Branching Out Scarf

I’ve started yet another knit project! This time, it’s Knitty‘s Branching Out in Knit PicksMerino Style in Frost. I’ve only done 3 repeats so far and I love the pattern so, so much. If this is what lace knitting is like, I can add yet another addiction to my list. The scarf definitely needs to be be blocked once it’s done so this will be my first time blocking a lace-like project. We’ll see how that goes.

I’m already planning my second Branching Out in more yummy and thinner yarn!

Opportunity Knits has been kind enough to nominate me with the Rockin’ Girl Blogger award. Thanks!

I’ve previously received this award on my other blog, About Every Little Thing and posted it in my I’m FABULOUS post so I’m reusing the picture that I tinkered with.

  1. Congrats fellow Rocker!

Good luck blocking that scarf. Branching out was my first scarf and my first experience with blocking too!

  2. Thanks Rain! I might take Lois’s suggestion and redo it with bigger needles.

Lois, good idea. Think I’ll redo it when I order the KP options since I don’t have any bigger needles now…

  3. Lace is fun, isn’t it? My first experiences with lace however were mostly frustrating because I couldn’t ‘see’ the lace and whether I had gone wrong and had to count stitches every row. Your fabulous post is so funny.

  4. Yep, lace is definitely fun! Even though I can sort of see the lace, I’m still counting stitches cos’ I really hate to frog knitting…

  5. How cool are you?! Rockin’ Blogger Girl…that’s great!
Loving your Branching Out..I did mine in the same type of yarn a couple of years ago…I have some lace yarn that would be perfect for another, I know what you mean!
Thanks for saying such sweet things about my hubby…he is one in a million, just came in with more surprises a few minutes ago!

  6. Thanks for the comment on my blog =)

I still haven’t tried knitting with the cotton yarn but I’ll let you know how it goes when I do =)

  7. Hey Becka, thanks for dropping by! Will love to see your Branching Out in the lace yarn you mention.
