It's "simple so far" because I've not reached any of the tricky parts (the hood, seaming etc)! ;)

If you ever decide to knit CPH, come join the KAL on Ravelry! And thanks for the kind words! I actually tried to learn to knit many years ago but had the hardest time with the cast-on so I gave up. It was only when I came across the videos on Knitting Help last year that I managed to start knitting. Even today, I'm still not a fan of casting on. Bleargh.

"Being relatively new to knitting (only picked it up last year) meant that I’m only slowly coming round to knit patterns that were wildly popular months or even years ago. "

That's me too! A class-mate in my Sally Melville class was wearing a beautiful rust colored Central Park Hoodie. I LOVE the cable that runs up the back of the hood itself. It looks very complex, and I'm surprised and encouraged that you think it is "really simple so far". Your cable work is beautiful! I can't believe you started knitting last year!
