My Mum had been asking for a water bottle holder so I asked her to look through a few patterns and she decided on this one.
Size: None stated, my base diameter came out to be about 4″
Yarn: Thorobred 8 Ply Acrylic
Before I started, I wanted to know as a rough gauge how big the designer’s holder was but I couldn’t find this information. Anyhow, I used DK yarn with 4.5mm hook (pattern used 4.25mm) and mine turned out to have a base diameter of about 4″. The bottle in the picture above has a 500ml capacity and the holder fits it comfortably.
The pattern was very clear, easy to follow and worked up very quickly. I omitted the flower as Mum didn’t want one. She also wanted a shorter hand strap rather than the long cross-body strap in the pattern so I modified it to a 10.75″ strap. I also didn’t crochet it separately.
My strap modifications:
After row 19 of body, do not fasten off. Continue to ch 40 and sl st in hdc across. Turn.Row 1: Sc across, sl st in hdc, ch 1, turnRow 2: Sc across, sl st in hdc, fasten off
